Undaunted encourages its drinkers to "drink boldly," just as viticulturists took a varietal road less traveled by planting Malbec in Washington State.
Milk + Leaf Collective, a burgeoning Seattle-based ice cream company focused on tea-infused flavors, needed a logo that communicated their values and their niche product offering.
Ice cream has always been about community for Milk + Leaf Collective’s founder, Harrison Davis. It started with family conversations over ice cream, and carried over through high school and college, this time shared between friends. The “Collective” in the name points to his experience and vision of ice cream bringing people together, but also embodies his passion for creating unique flavor combinations, pairing nuanced tea flavors with fresh, local ingredients.
We entered a strategic and collaborative process that included a Creative Brief, Research & Discovery, Sketching and Concept Development, and then refined the mark and color palette up to final delivery. The result uses organic shapes, rounded corners and a communal interaction between the ice cream and tea leaf to connote feelings of approachability, community, and fun (as ice cream should be).
Manzano is a sweet red wine made in New Mexico. The name derives from the nearby Manzano Mountains, and the design is inspired by the spirit of the southwest and native american tapestries.
Ouragan (pronounced “ooo-ragan”) is French for hurricane.
The label has an embossed leaf vein pattern and debossed, bold logo “stamp” for a nature-inspired, handcrafted look.
Gilbert Gruet was head of a pioneering family who brought méthode champenoise winemaking from Bethon, France to New Mexico. The Gruet Brand Brochure highlights Gruet's new packaging launch with beautiful photography and custom illustrations, showing the elegance and passion with which the family continues to make their dreams a reality today.
The Alder Ridge redesign is inspired by the steep hills in the iconic Alder Ridge Vineyard, overlooking the Columbia River. The brand needed a more premium and eye-catching look to highlight the coveted fruit from this vineyard, which is emboldened by the wind sweeping up from the gorge. The design is screen printed on a heavy Bordeux bottle with custom capsule to draw attention to this acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon.
For the wine enthusiast with a true Northwest taste for adventure, The Explorer by Canoe Ridge Vineyard reflects the natural beauty and terroir of the Horse Heaven Hills vineyard overlooking the Columbia River in Washington State. This series began with a redesign of the Red Blend, with label art inspired by vintage National Parks posters.

Seattle Repertory Theatre's Education department partners with Roosevelt High School to mentor students in playwriting and give students a space to see their work on stage. In 2013, I illustrated and designed the cover of the first anthology of Roosevelt student plays to be distributed to students, donors, and sold at the Shop at the Rep.
Wines from Marion-Field Cellars are an ode to family. The labels repurpose old photographs of the client’s father, mother and grandfather and use his father’s own handwriting as reference. Printed on thick, textured paper with intentionally minimal embellishment, these labels present a raw, simple expression of love—of family, history, and wine meant to be shared.
Clark's goal as a composer/musician is to tell a story through music and elicit emotional responses from the audience. He is constantly considering his surroundings and thinking about how his writing can set a stage. The Super 8 camera indicates Clark's unique lens through which he views the world. He relates to the classic, unique and original result that accompanies the quirks and imperfection of Super 8 film. The image also represents his desire to compose for movies specifically, and his love of storytelling.
Karissa Swetland is a blogger and mother of two who was eager to start blogging again—and revamp her site with a new, original banner. Hoping to transition her blog's focus from predominately family life to include decor, DIY and style, her banner needed to transition as well.
After conducting a visual audit and sourcing inspiration from Karissa's favorite blogs and "bohemian/industrial" style, the result was a clean, trendy banner and matching social media icons that represent Karissa's style and future content of her blog. Check it out at youngfolkstreasure.blogspot.com.
